Sunday 12:30

January 3, 2010 05:32 by pphipps

Hey guys when it's 12:30 (afternoon) and it's only 40 degrees we have a serious problem.  When you look out our bedroom window at the orange/grapefruit trees and all you see is ice - 'WE HAVE A PROBLEM".  This is so unusual for us, I think we had record breaking "cold" and it is suppose to last or at least not warm up much until Friday.  It got down to freezing in the early morning hours so Patrick is glad he had sprinklers going on the fruit trees or we would have lost them to the freeze.  You have to keep the water on them until the ice melts - like that is going to happen anytime soon.  So, don't feel bad it's not only our Northern family & friends that is having cold weather.  We certainly don't like the "sharing" you guys have done with us - it's time for 70 degree weather again I CAN'T WAIT!!!  I enjoy the break but wow I'll be glad when it's over.  (Next week I'll be wishing it was cold again - you figure it out)Smile.

We went out earlier to Lowes to get something for the water line at the well that will keep it from freezing and a few other things.  Stopped at Harbor Freight for a few things then home.  Patrick is at the shop doing something, Dad is doing his normal reading, and I just took all the decorations off the Christmas tree.  Yep, I'm not waiting until March/April this year it's coming down early.  We even bought a storage bag to put it in when it comes down- believe it or not but I'm ready to take it down as soon as Patrick has time it's going nighty night for the year.  Then when it warms up we're ready to take down the house lights and the wreath off the building, and the few things down around the house - I've had my share of Christmas this year.  It was absolutely wonderful but as I age I think I just dread the break-down so much that I want it over with.  I honestly don't know how I use to do as much as I did, I'm thankful that is over for this lifetime - or at least I think it is.

The Chili is doing it's final cooking stage and it smells good in here - I know it will taste good this evening especially with the chill in the air.  I bought a loaf of specialty bread at Publix (grocery store like Giant) and that's it for dinner.  A little cheese for the Chili some nice hot bread and finished for the night.  Football should be pretty good today so I know what our day will consist of.

Well, I think I'll close & see if Dad wants lunch.  He slept in a little late this morning so he's moving a little behind schedule.  I promise to blog later.  Stay inside, stay warm, enjoy your families.  REMEMBER we love & miss everyone.

Hugs & Kisses,

Patty
