We can't believe 50-1 odds for the Kentucky Derby winner and he wasn't an Ocala horse. I'm so proud of the results, and the jockey seemed unbelievably happy. Congrats to his win & the "old" new horse. Our paper was full of information today, quite a disappointment that with over half of the field being Ocala born & raised horses that they weren't winners, yet happiness for the new rider & the horse. I can't believe that the cost of the horse was around $9,500 compared to one at 3.7 million. I guess this proves that money isn't everything.
It's nice outside today but already 84 degrees. Patrick is working on one of his racquetball partners computer and I thought I'd give you an update on the weekend farm activities. Dad seems to be having a pretty good day, he's in front of the TV (with it blaring loud), watching some aged western. Cats, dogs, & birds are sleeping as usual. I decided to make an easy dinner today as I usually do over the weekend, I'm fixing a nice big salad with fresh chicken & vegetables. I think I'll make my Dad a chicken breast with vege & part of a baked sweet potato. Pat & I eat very little when it's hot outside but the weather doesn't affect my Dad's appetite. I think he eats every day all day.
Well, I think I'll get to the kitchen & fix sandwiches for lunch. Hugs & Kisses!!
Love,
Patty
