Tuesday, last day of the month, and Dad isn't using oxygen. Boy this is a day I've been waiting for what seems live forever. Dad yesterday started bringing himself off the oxygen after we had a long discussion and I think it's the best thing for him. I can't believe he actually wants Patrick to take him to the library today to get some new books. Believe it or not, he things he can see a little out of his bad eye. I have my fingers crossed that the shots in the eye are able to help him, he's lost without reading or should I say reading as much as he usually did. His health seems 100% better today!!
We were off to the gym early this AM and I had a great "new" work-out with my trainer. We always use a lot of weights but today we did weights with some equipment and it was wonderful. I always feel so full of life when my work-out is complete, energized and ready for the day. It is hard to believe that I look FORWARD to each day at the gym, it gives me so much energy and reason to move forward. Patrick bought me a stepper this weekend to use at home it definately helps with my stability and attempting to remember how to do things in reverse. Believe it or not, just to step off the stepper with the foot that I stepped up with is a major task but one that I'm trying to handle. Some days are better then I expect and some days I really struggle but having the equipment at home to work with will make it easier. Repetition seems to be the answer doing something over and over makes it easier to do. Ironically, after cutting the lawn yesterday I suffered with a headache which persisted through the night however, I got up and went to the gym and it's over. It takes a lot to push youself some of the times but it is well worth it.
Pat had his racquetball games with a couple of older guys from the Villages, they are funny to listen to and watch. However, Pat doesn't care as long as he gets the games in and the exercise. I was a little tired after my work-out so I didn't play any games with him.
Well, I plan stuffed chicken breasts for dinner with baked potatoes and vegetables. If you all pile into a car and head South I promise to fix dinner for you also. I'll close for now and get my gym clothes changes. We love and miss everyone.
Love,
Patty
