Football Sunday!

November 23, 2008 02:42 by pphipps

Well, what a week, I am glad it is over.  Dad is making daily improvements, still out of breath and getting around very little but he is making good progress every day.  I'm anxious for him to feel more like himself I'd like to get him semi-active at the gym with us and working with my trainer. I guess time will tell how much he can tolerate.

Patrick, my sole mate, has diligently been working on a "Day In The Life" DVD of my Mom and it is absolutely beautiful.  I am certain everyone that gets a copy will thoroughly enjoy it.  It has been very time consuming going through old photos, etc. but well worth all of his work.  I'm glad I don't have to pay him hourly I'd be broke by the time the project is over.

We went to "Light Up Ocala" last night and I can't remember seeing so many thousands of people in one location.  The numbers were beyond belief and the crowd was very friendly.  It was unbelievable, the power company (I think) that strung the lights did a fantastic job they were perfect and what warmth the twinkling lights brought to our community.  Thank you Ocala, I felt like my Mom was smiling down on us enjoying it from above.  We bought a few Christmas gifts (very unique) from a couple of vendors and the food vendors must have made a fortune.  All in all, it was one of the nicest community events I have ever attended.

I think today I will plan my scheduel for Thanksgiving Day and get my time schedule down pat for cooking.  We eat very little but I still plan to cook turkey, dressing, fresh vegetables, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, etc.  It will be a nice day even in the absence of Mom.  We will definately celebrate her and the wonderful things she gave us throughout her long life.  I hope to get Dad through this as easily as possible; honestly, I think he is what has given me the strength to be strong and not let him see my loss.  Patrick is my salvation, my love, my strength.  I know he will always be here to help me with my Dad however long it may be.

Well, I'll close & get Dad's breakfast cooked.  We love and miss everyone.

Love,

Patty
